Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell also worked at the top New York establishments, studied Italian cuisine and its traditions, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a year, taking classes at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It will have a significant impact on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, cooking with others.
