Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko fights as Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sporting career with a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko took the title and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals via the unanimous vote. Antonina continued to win and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011 and the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003, and she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko set professional MMA records in 2002 when she fought Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She won this fight via TKO at the end of round two and her following two matches were staged during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to concentrate on kickboxing. She returned to the ring in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimous decision and beat Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina demonstrated her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera using knees. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this victory. Antonina made her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the unanimous decision, but fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi in the split decision. Antonina recovered from her loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke submission and earned the prize of the night in the fight. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights before losing them to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. In the past, Antonina fell to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
